Hans Van Nuffel (1981) graduated cum laude from the RITCS filmschool in Brussels in 2005. After winning a VAF Wildcard with his short “The End of The Ride” starring Matthias Schoenaerts, he made another short called “FAL”, which travelled well and scored him a few awards.

In 2010, he debuted to critical acclaim with “ADEM”, a feature film that tells the story of a young boy with Cystic Fibrosis, who has a hard time finding solid ground in a world where nothing much is expected of him. The film won over 20 International awards, among them the “Grand Prix des Amériques” at the Montréal Wordfilmfestival, The “Variety New Talent Award” in Zürich, the “Marco Aurelio Nella citta prize” in Rome and the Discovery Award at the 2011 European Film Awards.

Ever since, Van Nuffel has stayed active as a freelance writer and director for film and television and as a guest-teacher at the RITCS filmschool and the Vlaamse Universiteit Brussels.

His more recent collaboration with Ahsan Naeem has been his most productive one to date. Hans’s more analytical approach to storytelling proved to be a good counterbalance to the warm, more emotional style of Ahsan. Together they have become a well-oiled machine, operating in both their respective home territories as well as Internationally.

Hans is currently developing on his first computer game called “REPLACEABLE”, a narrative isometric puzzle. He’s also working with Ahsan on a few different projects, the standouts being “Capturing Bigmouth” and “The New Order”, with the former being selected for the Series Manias International Copro- Pitching sessions and the latter quite promising in both scale and scope.

Recent projects:

2019: Co-writer of “The New Order”, together with Ahsan Naeem (Bravado Fiction)

2019: Writer of “Coltan”, 10 episode serial drama. (HAMLET)
