Sehnsucht

Sehnsucht is a fascinating, character-driven mini-series (6 x 60’) about love and loss.

Lou is a 24-year old blind singer, born in Angola / Africa, living in the picturesque, but raw capital of Europe, Brussels.

Lou is at the beginnings of a very promising career as a singer, when she meets Victor, a famous painter and activist. It really ironically is love “at first sight” and Lou falls for him hard. Their feelings for each are a snowball which quickly becomes an avalanche.

But they are also two broken souls fighting their demons and their own self-destructive nature.

What is supposed to be mutual salvation begins to become something else.

Lou’s life is turned upside down when Victor dies during a protest rally. Losing her soulmate, just as her career is supposed to explode, is a devastating blow for her.

As she spirals down, the only thing Lou cared about other than Victor, her music and her career, begin to slip away from her, while she struggles to control the shadows from her past, which darken her soul.

In the end, to be able to say goodbye to Victor and find peace again, Lou must confront her biggest fear and the enemy she has fought the longest. Death.
